Scene Manipulators
Updated scene manipulators allow users to more easily and accurately manipulate scene elements. Objects can be rotated, scaled and moved freely in 3D space or along an individual axis. Motion Paths
With Carrara 4, Motion Paths have been improved making them even more precise and user-friendly.
Timeline
The modified tmeline interface permits greater user interaction. The new keyframe manipulation is even more robust, and the timeline more logical and easy to read.
Inverse Kinematics (IK)
A must-have feature for posing and animation. Applying a dynamic chain tool to the updated algorithms, the Inverse Kinematics target tool generates intuitive movement across a hierarchy of joints.
Morph Targets
Make your characters talk, smile and laugh. Now you can add multiple morph targets to dynamically deform a surface based upon defined geometry changes. Create a different target for each muscle group in a face, or apply “squash and stretch” to a bouncing ball.
Terrain Editor
All new in Carrara 4, the Terrain Editor produces more realistic and customizable results. Create high altitude peaks, coastal river valleys or the surface of the moon.
Sky Simulation
Produce realistic sunsets and stormy night skies with the new Sky Editor. The color is natural, the clouds are softer and the sun is brighter.
Alpha Channel in Textures
Mask portions of objects or simply make them fade away seamlessly for more realistic scenes using the Alpha Channel value in textures. Users are no longer limited to glass-like transparencies.
Transparency in Alpha Channel
Transparency and alpha values in a texture are now reflected in the Alpha channel in rendered images.
